Tap Water
Super cheap. Public water systems, although filtered, are chlorinated and can become contaminated. Municipal tap water is treated only to minimum standards. Tap water may contain parasites, chemicals, hormones, and traces of prescription drugs.
Well Water
Water from a hole bored, drilled, or otherwise constructed in the ground, which taps the water aquifer. Most well water requires processing to remove contaminants from the six basic classifications. Raw well water can range from—‘safe to drink’ to ‘deadly poisonous’; therefore, it must be filtered and tested regularly.
Mineral Water
Contains over 250 parts per million of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of inorganic particles such as: iron, copper, calcium, magnesium and sulphate. It is usually bottled at the water source and may not be filtered or processed for bacteria removal.
Spring Water
Water derived from an underground formation from which water flows naturally to the surface of the earth. Must have an inorganic mineral count less than 500 parts per million (PPM) of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). It might not be as clean and fresh as the label says. Just like tap water, Spring Water may not have been processed to remove organics, inorganics, micro-bacterias, pesticides and herbicides.
Distilled Water
Produced by boiling water and condensing the steam, leaving behind the contaminants that boil at less—or close to—the same temperature as water. Must then be removed from the condensed water by some other filtration method. Usually an activated carbon based filter.
Reverse Osmosis
Reverse Osmosis is a filtering process that provides you with pure water. It works by using pressure to force water through a permeable membrane, retaining the water on one side and allowing the pure water to pass to the other side. The International Bottled Water Association defines ‘Pure Water’ as having less than 10 parts per million (ppm) of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and as being virtually free of detectable levels of all 6 classifications of water contaminants. It’s pure tasting, safe and healthy for your body. These processes take absolutely everything out of the water. The end result—pure water 99.9% mineral-free!
Alkaline Water
Over time our body becomes acidic: from diet, lifestyle, stress, indigestion and metabolism of food. Acid wastes build up in the body in the form of cholesterol, gallstones, kidney stones, arterial plaque, phosphates and sulphates. These acidic waste products are the direct cause of premature aging and the onset of chronic disease. Acidic foods include: coffee, alcohol, soft drinks, refined foods and sugar. Alkaline water can effectively neutralize acids in the blood and tissues. The water function as a potent antioxidant to scavenge free radicals and to neutralize toxic substances in the blood. It replenishes essential minerals stabilizing and protecting cells.
